  1. Remove the old axle, noting the position of the disc and sprocket flanges.
  2. Remove the Posi*Lock nut assembly from the Durablue axle by removing the c-clip ring and sliding off the nut assembly. The nut assembly will be reinstalled the same way, so pay attention to the Posi*Lock orientation on the axle.
  3. If you are installing the axle in a pre 2003 Blaster, remove the c-clip and keeper ring from the brake side of the axle (the larger of the two inner-most splines). Take the large ring from the plastic sack and slide it onto the axle so that it is between the carrier bearing and the larger diameter spline. When installed correctly, this ring covers a section of spline. Skip to #5.
  4. Slide the brake hub (Banshee) or sprocket hub (Raptor) onto the axle.
  5. Slide the axle through the bearing carrier.
  6. Slide the sprocket hub (Banshee/Blaster) or brake hub (Raptor) onto the axle.
  7. Install the nut assembly as shown. Tighten the axle in the bearing carrier 15-20 lbs-ft
(not especially important, just snug). Tighten the allen screw to 17 lbs-ft, clamping the nut.
  8. Pre 2003 Blaster owners will need to slide the brake rotor flange onto the axle
(the flange "floats" on the spline). Ride the vehicle and check for axle tightness.

You may have to retighten the axle. After retightening, use a thread lock compound on the s screw when clamping for the final time.

1. Heavy Duty Axle

The Heavy Duty axle is designed as a superior replacement for the stock axle. It's a cost effective choice when reliability is a prime concern. The Heavy Duty axle is designed for twice the fun and activity as your stock axle. The Heavy Duty axle has a six month warranty against bending and breaking (see WARRANTY for details). This axle comes with a long lasting zinc finish. All Durablue axles come ready for a complete install. You will not have to buy any additional parts! Parts supplied with your axle may vary. See pictures below for details.

2. Eliminator Axle

Eliminator is the worlds #1 axle. They are far stronger than stock and Heavy Duty axles. This is due to a proprietary multi-step heat treating process that provides excellent wear and strength characteristics. The process involves super heating the axle, cooling, then two more heats. This leaves the axles so hard they are not readily machinable or drillable yet can flex without breaking. They are then polished and chrome plated, giving you a product that is superior in strength as well as good looks.

The Eliminator axle comes in a standard length or an extended length, denoted as the 2+2. The 2+2 is a general term referrring to the over stock length. The actual length may vary slightly and most of the extended axles are adjustable by hub rings. Good for widening the tread width, adding stability.

Many of the models come with the patented Posi•Lock system which removes threaded sections from the flexing area of the shaft (a source of crack generation).

3. X-33 Axle

The X-33 axle is a truely innovative axle design. The X-33 uses the same superior material and heat treating as the Eliminator. The unique difference is in the design. Standard design ATV axles neck down to about 1" in diameter. A splined wheel hub slides onto the axle shaft and is retained with a hex nut. As all ATVer's know, hubs loosen frequently. The X-33 changes all that. The wheel hub is clamped solid and driven by a pin on a 1-3/8" diameter shaft. This axle is rifled to reduce weight near the rotational axis of the ATV. The "straight bar" X-33 axle has no narrow or weak areas that can be prone to breaking.

This axle allows 16 different wheel offset alternatives. It comes with a Warranty to Original Purchaser against bending or breaking (see WARRANTY for details).
